Neil P. Anderson Condominiums Developer Hires Architect, Interior Design “Dream Team”
FORT WORTH, TX. August 25, 2004 –– Developers of the
downtown Neil P. Anderson Condominiums, 411 W. Seventh Street here, have hired profile architect
Corgan Associates and interior designer Brenda Stephenson it was announced today by Matt Herring,
principal of Amicus Interests.
“ A building like the Neil P. Anderson Building deserves to have the ‘rock stars’ of
the architecture and interior design worlds working on it,” said Mr. Herring. “Our
design ‘dream team’ was recruited to take an incredible building and ensure a one-of-a-kind
living experience for our condominium buyers. We expect that they will set the standard for
all current and future downtown residential projects,” he said.
Founded in 1938, Corgan Associates has 250 staff and offices in Fort Worth, Dallas, New York,
Miami and the United Kingdom. The firm’s clientele includes American Airlines, ExxonMobil,
Federal Express, Brinker International, Merrill Lynch and others, as well as Fort Worth’s
The Tower condominium development and Dallas’ The Kirby Building apartments. Matt Mooney,
principal with Corgan said the firm has initiated site research and created preliminary floor
plates and plans for the project.
Brenda Stephenson, ASID, owner of Brenda Stephenson Interiors, Inc., brings more than 25
years of residential and commercial design expertise to the Neil P. Anderson Condominiums development.
Ms. Stephenson’s private residential and Class A office work includes projects in New
York, Dallas and Gulf Stream and Naples, Fla. and her work has appeared in D Home magazine,
the McNeil Lehrer Report and Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, among others. Prior to launching
her firm in 1998, Ms. Stephenson was project manager for Dallas-based Wilson & Associates,
overseeing high-profile projects for 5-Star hospitality clients including The Broadmoor Hotel,
The Breakers and the Ritz-Carlton Huntington Hotel, as well as the Texas Stadium suite for
Dallas Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones.
Located at 411 West Seventh Street, the Neil P. Anderson Building was originally constructed
in 1923 as the headquarters of the Neil P. Anderson Cotton Company. Designed by Fort Worth’s
leading architect firm of that time, Sanguinett and Statts, the building is the gateway to
the city’s central business district and has unique architectural features such as its
signature, gently-curving corner bound by Seventh and Lamar Streets. In 1978 the building was
placed on the list of Texas Historic Landmarks.
In June, 2004 the Neil P. Anderson Building was purchased by developer Amicus Interests,
LLC for conversion from commercial space to residential condominiums. Amicus Interests partners
Matt Herring and Mark Latham said they plan to create 60 to 70 condominium homes in the 83-year-old
landmark building.
